Scripture:“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me, you can do nothing.” — John 15:5

At Faith Root Landscaping, pruning is one of the most important steps in helping plants grow strong and healthy. It might look like we’re cutting something away, but we’re actually making room for new life to flourish.

God works the same way in our lives. There are times when He prunes — removing habits, distractions, or even relationships that keep us from growing closer to Him. It’s not always easy, and it doesn’t always make sense in the moment, but His goal is always growth, not loss.

When God trims back parts of our lives, He’s shaping us to bear fruit that lasts — faith, love, patience, and character. The process might be uncomfortable, but just like pruning strengthens a plant, God’s correction and guidance strengthen our roots in Him.

So, when you feel like something’s being cut away, don’t lose hope. God’s hand is gentle, His timing is perfect, and His purpose is good. Stay connected to the Vine — Jesus — and trust that new growth is coming.

Reflection Questions:

  1. What areas of your life might God be pruning right now?

  2. How can you stay connected to Jesus during times of change or challenge?

  3. What new growth do you sense God preparing in you?

Prayer:Lord, thank You for loving us enough to prune what doesn’t belong. Help us trust You through the process and remain rooted in Your Word. Let every cut lead to stronger faith and greater fruit for Your glory. Amen.
